In Ubuntu 22.04, when you launch the 3218 (latest) version of the KMyMoney AppImage, you get a gear icon in the launcher. Is there a way to display the correct gold K icon?
I keep a folder of icons for various apps that for one reason or another do not like to display their default icon. The I rightclick on my application launcher on the main panel and select Edit Applications. Once that launches I search for the app, on the right side clickon and navigate to it’s saved icon, and then save and exit.

all the appimages i run needed to have an icon associated with them manually in the app menu.
usually if you search the git repostitory for the app you can find an icon file to download, and i just keep in the same ~/.local/bin folder as the appimage executables.
