Apply effects like Oldfilm or Glitch0r to stacked clips

Hi,

if I want to add effects like Oldfilm and Glitch0r to stacked video clips, in order for it to not look funny, the effects should be synced in some way. I could create a zone, render it, import it and apply the effects to that, but is there a quicker way?

I am not sure what you mean with “the effects should be synced”. Can you elaborate a bit more?

yeah, sure. suppose an effect creates movement. if I use a videoclip stacked on a background, they should move at the same time in the same direction for the same duration. that’s what I mean by “should be synced”.

so a solution would be to have the effect applied to the whole stack. I tried grouping the clips but that just copied the effect onto each clip.

You could put the clips into a sequence, then apply the effect(s) on the sequence in the main timeline …

OK, cheers. I haven’t looked into sequences yet, will do some research on it.

sequences seem to be somewhat convoluted. I ended up rendering and importing zones again instead.
