Thank you. Believe it or not - I would like to redo the video with what I know now, especially after that particular project.

That’s a pretty natural and normal result of learning and growth that I don’t ever want to outgrow.

Yes! i have been using kdenlive since 2025. I teach Kdenlive at school and universities. Only hoping to get drag and drop transitions Soon!! for the rest, it is simply awsome!!! thanks KDE.

Hi, and welcome to the forum and community! And thanks for showing your students free and open source software as alternatives to many paid program. Your feedback about Kdenlive on what is working well and what can be improved is appreciated.

… are already available: You can drag and crop a composition from the Compositions widget list to any clip in the timeline. That works for transitions (compositions are used for transitions, see this chapter in the Kdenlive Manual) between clips in adjacent tracks that overlap for the duration of the transition (alternatively you can click on the purple circle in the bottom corners of the clip to add a transition).
If you want a same-track-transition or mix, you cannot drag and drop - granted - but a double click on the edge between two clips in the same track (!) adds a Luma Dissolve composition/transition (see this chapter).
