Audio Not Switching when Headphones Connected

After the last Fedora upgrade, which brought Plasma 6, it seems my audio is no longer automatically switching from my laptop’s speakers to my headphone jack when I plug in the headphones.

Oddly, it seems like the audio controls in KDE kinda know they should switch, but they don’t quite do it without me fiddling a lot:

It shows the selected output still as “Speakers”, but when I click the “hamburger menu” next to that, the list shows 2 ports:

  • “Speakers (unavailble)”, which is selected
  • “Headphones”

Attempting to select headphones doesn’t seem to really do anything, I end up having to pull up other audio controls and fiddle until things work…

Has anyone encountered this and is there a workaround?

Similar issue on my system below. Audio will not automatically switch to headphones after I plug in my 3.5mm headphones. However, I can use task manager to manually select to use the headphones. Still, this is somewhat user unfriendly as you have to do an extra few clicks for something that should be done automatically.
