Automatically disable tablet mode when docked/for external monitors

I recently installed Fedora KDE on my Yoga 2in1 and everything has been working great so far.

This laptop has a weird quirk: the cooling works best in “tent” mode (all vents have breathing room).

The issue is that, when it’s a tent, it goes into tablet mode. So if I plug in an external display, they are also in the tablet mode UI, even though they’re not touchscreens.

I was thinking of a few ways to workaround this, but none are available:

  1. automatically disable tablet mode when the touchscreen display is disabled - right now, it stays in tablet mode, even when I disable the laptop screen
  2. tablet mode indicator with an option to temporarily disable it
  3. an option to automatically disable tablet mode when docked
  4. don’t enable tablet mode on the non-touchscreen display (just keep the normal UI on them)
