Autostart krfb without KWallet?

I’ve used krfb for the TightVNC server for remote management in the past, but I haven’t run into this issue before. The bottom line is I want krfb to start when KDE starts, and to NOT require human intervention or interaction for that to happen. Now it’s asking for access to KWallet and it seems the krfb password is stored in KWallet. That means in case of reboot, I can’t access the system without physical access.

I’m setting up a new Debian system using Trixie. It’s in another building and I can’t get there for a few days. I had to reboot it and reconnected through ssh, but could not reconnect through krfb. My wife was nearby and I had her check it. There was a dialog box on screen from krfb asking for access to KWallet. She clicked “Cancel” before I could tell her not to. After that, krfb came up, but I can’t access it remotely because I keep getting password errors.

Security is not a big issue for this system. Our ISP uses CGNAT and the building is in a remote part of our lot, so nobody is nearby to access the wifi network and I’m not using this machine to log into any important websites.

I did see something, somewhere, about allowing a blank password in a low security situation, but I can’t find that again.

I basically want krfb to start up when KDE starts, not need any interaction to connect it to KWallet, and for me to be able to reach the system with krfb, remotely, after it boots. I realize this is probably more about KWallet than krfb, but wherever the issue is, I need a way to bypass it without having to be there to enter a password or to respond to any dialog boxes.

Hi, kwallet can be unlocked at login.

About having clicked cancel:

Open kwalletmanager, select the wallet, go to the “applications” tab, and there is a list of allowed/disallowed applications.

Also in krfb settings:

Thanks - on both. I ran into that other issue (you’ve been on that thread) and had not gotten back to this one.
