Baloo_filemetada_temp_extractor error

I can’t open any images on my KDE Neon 6.6.2. I get a message saying “baloo_filemetada_temp_extractor encountered a fatal error,” even though Baloo is disabled and I’ve disabled all previews in Dolphin. What should I do?

i’m on plasma 5 and my baloo keeps crashing as well

This issue may be related to the discussion here. A temporary work-around is also suggested there.

running this command

sudo apt install libexiv2-27=0.27.6-1build1

will revert the library to a working version and then wait for the fix to be announced before allowing the update to proceed

my discover now shows it as an outstanding security update
