Ban from Matrix community?

Hello,

For some unknown reason I was banned from two conversations.

I was having a discussion on Plasma Mobile and KDE Francophone. Nothing extraordinary. Simply talking about Plasma Mobile on phones and such and just saying hello in the KDE Francohphone chat room and all of a sudden the rooms disappeared from my subscriptions.

When I tried to re-joined I got an error message saying I was banned. I really don’t understand why. I was being polite and respectful and was discussing the actual topic of the chat room. Or just saying hello?

Is there a way to contact the mods and possibly reverse those bans? Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards,

The advice is “Don’t spam on KDE channels”.

How is simply saying “Hello” considered spamming?

We’re looking into it. It may have been a bot. Please be patient.

You have been unbanned.

Mods advise you keep your contributions on topic. As they put it: “Posting random crap [zombo.com? Really?] can get you confused with a spambot”. Suspected spambots get banned summarily, no questions asked.

Humans who spew “random crap” also get kicked out, so, again, keep your contributions on topic.

Thank you Paul_Brown. I really appreciate your help here

Have a great day!

Hello, I have a question… are bot bans permanent or temp?

Have you been banned?

If so, where from? And what did you do?

Yes, from KDE matrix.
I, without prior experience with community matrixes, was commenting on everything, without really understanding what’s going on.

In which chatroom?

if i remember correctly, #kde-devel

Hello, I’m sorry for what I did, but I can’t change my past.
