Black Screen on first screen when activating second screen on Wayland

Hi,

System information:

Operating System: EndeavourOS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0
Qt Version: 6.8.1
Kernel Version: 6.12.9-3-cachyos (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 12 × Intel® Xeon® W-2133 CPU @ 3.60GHz
Memory: 125,4 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA TITAN Xp/PCIe/SSE2
Manufacturer: LENOVO
Product Name: 30BFS75R02
System Version: ThinkStation P520

Usually i only have one monitor connected with 1920x1080 resolution.
When I want to activate a second monitor (A CRT in that case), it activates, however the first monitor deactivates. Its screen space is still existing. (I can drag windows out of it.)
I tested multiple resolutions on the second monitor, so I do not think that this plays a role.

(Pressing apply here will switch to the second monitor (Nvidia LCD, VGA) and deactivate the first one (Denon) contrary to what is displayed in this dialog.)

That also happens when i do:

kscreen-doctor output.DP-1.enable

and the first screen shows up again when

kscreen-doctor output.DP-1.disable

Any Idea what I could do?

Can i somehow reset what plasma knows about my screens. Just to eliminate the possibility of old and stale config files?

Hi - one way to accomplish a related thing would be to try creating a fresh user account on your device, logging into that user account, and checking if the same issue can be reproduced there.

How are the monitors connected - to two ports of the same graphics card, or to separate graphics cards? (Thinking of this situation: Multiple Nvidia GPU adapters may have display issues - ThinkStation - Lenovo Support US )

Thanks, I’ll try it with a new user.

The two monitors are connected to the same card. That card is also the only one in the machine.

The first display is on the hdmi port of the card, the second one is on a displayport.
