On wayland, my screen will turn black when putting something in fullscreen mode. I tried with a youtube video, and with the firefox browser itself by pressing f11. Once fullscreen is exited, the black screen comes back after a few seconds, seemingly because the monitor has to boot back up again. On X11, fullscreen works fine. Is this a bug or is something misconfigured? I used to use gnome on arch, but just switched to plasma. I’m not super experienced so let me know if you need some logs from somewhere to diagnose the problem.
I’m not seeing that at all in Display Settings. I would like to try changing that setting to see if I can finally use my Displayport over the HDMI without fullscreen videos going black.
Also noticed that it only affects my primary display (4K, with fractional scaling), even if the fullscreen window is on another display (1080p without scaling)
Disabling adaptive sync seems to fix the issue for me
I have the same problem after a recent update. It works fine at first, but after a few hours, I can no longer enter fullscreen. Disabling Adaptive Sync resolves the issue, or rebooting the computer temporarily restores fullscreen functionality with Adaptive Sync for a few hours.
