Borken Dolphin Theme

Before I say anything else, I will point out that I am on Arch, Hyprland and that this is a major regression that happened ~a month ago to me, and a few of my friends(some also on Hyprland, some on i3).
Now, to get to the point, I have, afaik, all the needed packages for qt apps to function correctly and, well, they do, other than dolphin ofc.
I have my kdeglobals set up correctly too, so that shouldn’t be an issue either.
I am using both QT5CT and QT6CT and you can find all my config files(including kdeglobals) here:

Here are my env vars, since that’s usually an issue with qt stuff, not in my case tho:

I expected this to be fixed in like a week, but it’s been going on for at least a month, and I’ve seen a lot of other people experiencing the same issue.
Could somebody help with this?

Is there a bug report you can link to?

No, I didn’t file a bug report, I just expected it to get fixed because it’s such an obvious issue that several people experienced so I thought devs were aware of it.
Now that it’s been a while, I decided to finally file a bug report, this.

Discuss is not a bug tracker, ergo you cannot file bug reports here.

Well yes, and no ig.
This could be something that’s not a bug, but rather an issue on my end, and therefore, I could get the needed help on kde discuss.
If it is indeed a bug, and I am told by a dev to file a report, I’ll do it.

A dev may likely not see this post at all – we are mostly a user forum.
So both creating a bug report as well as asking about it here are good steps to take

I get it. I’m not saying you were wrong to post this here. I just wanted to make clear that this isn’t the bug tracker, to manage expectations.

Try rolling back kiconthemes to 6.7.0. If that works, see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=496174

Just for what it’s worth, I doubt that too many developers of KDE applications are regularly using and testing them on desktop configurations other than KDE Plasma, and I’d say it’s extremely unlikely that many are doing so on more esoteric setups.

If you’re using a FOSS project’s product in an uncommon situation, you’re more likely to run into edge cases that aren’t seen by others.

Almost correct.
I had to go all the way down to 6.5.0-1.
Thanks though, if it wasn’t for you, I would’ve never even thought of this!
A bit more info:
Going down all the way back to 6.6 just caused dolphin to be completely white, as in, the blue thing that’s themed in the original post screenshot is also white, and going below 5.5 caused the following issue:

dolphin  ✔   3s  05:19:07 
dolphin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libKF6KIOWidgets.so.6: undefined symbol: _ZN11KIconEffect8toActiveER7QPixmap

I read through the bug report you linked and it’s sad to see that kde devs are (mostly) unwilling to cooperate outside of the plasma desktop, and that qtct projects are dead.
I am looking forward to hyprqtengine tho :skull:

Indeed, no KDE developers I know of use Kvantum.

Is this issue fixed?
My dolphin looks like this

Hi - it looks like the comments on the bug linked in the post above show some workarounds, and have discussion of what would be needed for a more overall fix. Have you already taken a look through those?

From what I gathered, the issue won’t be fixed and you have to downgrade the icons package as mentioned above

On the left side dolphin launched with kiconthemes 6.9, and on the left with 6.5.
