Calligra Stage - export and font problems

Hi,

i have a lot of questions regarding Calligra Stage usage. I like this app and want to use it (instead of LibreOffice for example), but it doesn’t work as it should for me…

Firstly fonts.. Whenever i change the font in the text box to a different font type from my system font and save the presentation - re-opening it results in all fonts being overwritten back to the system font…

Second problem is exporting to pdf.
Selecting Format - > Page Layout to “Custom” or “Screen” gives the landscape slide format as it should be:

However exporting as pdf and choosing the same layout in options

results always in a document of portrait layout and the content of the slide occupying only small part of the page…

i managed to open this presentation with LibreOffice and OnlyOffice and export it to pdf normally, but still it would be nice to have export working properly in Calligra…

Lastly, is there any way to insert Latex formulas in Calligra? For example LibreOffice has a math plugin for this, where you type in Latex syntax and it creates an svg image from it and adds to the slide.. This page mentions LaTEX mode for formulas, but i can’t find it in my application: Calligra 2.7 Released - Calligra Suite

Would be also nice to know, is there an option to add svg file to the slides in Calligra without converting to png/shrinking of quality. I tried inserting an svg picture to the slide, seems like it is converted to sth else, anyway quality is very poor:

Many thanks in advance,
Li

P.S. I have Fedora 42 LXQT, Calligra package installed: calligra-25.04.1-1.fc42.x86_64

W. r. t. font, I see a similar problem in calligrawords. I can change fonts for pieces of text, but when I try to set the font in the paragraph format, it is ignored.
Can you change the font when you select a part of the text in your box rather than set the font for the whole box?

yes, i can change and set different fonts in one text box for different text parts, but all changes are overwritten to default system font after saving document anyway…

I can reproduce all this. Paragraph settings are ignored immediately, local font settings seem to work first, but don’t survive a save/open cycle. Damn! I just wanted to give this office suite a try, but didn’t expect it to be so buggy that it is basically unusable. I see a lot more bugs than this here and I wonder why the web is not full of complaints about it. Is nobody using Calligra or does it work better for other people?
What do we both have in common? I’m using Arch Linux on an ARM-based computer (PineTab2, i.e. aarch64), software quite up-to-date: calligra-25.04.1-1.
Btw., when I export to PDF, all font settings are fine.

After using it for some time i agree, there are even more bugs.. i wanted to give this office suite a try mainly since it is lightweight…
In my daily work i need to arrange a lot of images on sheets/slides, and as much as like LibreOffice, it hangs and becomes unusable.. I also like the feature when you can set position and size of an image writing its coordinates w.r.t. sheet without pressing/calling “advanced image options” window as in other office suites - this makes workflow faster.
This feature is there in LibreOffice, and i tried using Calligra because it also has this feature (and wasn’t slowing down with my usual amount of images).. But because of all bugs it’s barely usable.. so almost switched to Only Office now…
I think people are mostly using LibreOffice, it is really good and well-maintained..
I also looked up Apache’s open office..probably it was very nice option long time ago  but now it seems to be also abandoned…

It looks like Libreoffice is the only option for you. If you don’t insist in open source, you may have a look at “Softmaker Office” too. See the Wikipedia; I’m not allowed to post a link here.
