Can I add a folder tree to the taskbar like in Windows 10?

It’s about a directory tree view. You only want the treeview plugin. NOTHING else.
As far as I can remember you could always, always delete/disable any kind of plugin on that panel.
The menu never exceeds the screen height.

no arrows, no option i can find to kill tray

We are going around in circles here, so thanks

Edit:

I decided to start from scratch and install again. There is now a heading for items and the tray shows. That works so I must have gotten a rotten apple.

Still no arrows
