I’ve an approximately 49.7 GiB file to download. KGet uses whichever measurement is most concise based upon the currently downloaded amount, rather than a fixed measurement type of KiB/s or MiB/s.
This is usually adequate, especially when using a quick internet connection, but because I need to be able to ascertain whether the download has stalled, I need to force the 21.2 GiB already downloaded to be displayed in MiB/s or KiB/s.
Is this possible? I don’t see any option in KGet (not that I would be opposed to setting it there) but this isn’t the sole program I’ve had this issue with, so I’ve specified “Global Progess Indicator” not entirely due to the X/Y problem.
This is actually a cool Downloader app, FOSS too. But Not integrated into System. And no flexible download options such as minimum size limit to capture.
@ikelatomig, indeed, and although I expect that whatever Qt function they utilize to acquire the size is probably common between them, their GUIs aren’t, so I’d need to file separate FRs, if it’s not possible in either.
I expect that this isn’t possible, so I’ll file an FR for the notification.
Otherwise, in that GUI - one which contains multiple columns - indicating whether a download has stalled is already possible. See “State”. That does seem like a solution. Thanks.
