In my case, synchronised them by default.
@lemon73, weirdly, Connect doesn’t add to my KDE clipboard what I copy on AOSP.
Umm, why is that…?
Incidentally, I’m using it with Android 12 (Xpedia) and KDE neon…
@lemon73, IDK, else I wouldn’t have asked this. However, it appears that it doesn’t work for my brother, either. Same OS on both smartphone and desktop.
@lemon73, I’ve just had a look at the AOSP application, and found a really trivial workaround - the “Send clipboard” option: [1]
Is that what you were referring to?
It’s an Android restriction to not automatically send clipboard contents. It’s been a thing since A10. I think there may be a way to make it automatic on rooted devices, but I’m not sure.
I just move the Send Clipboard tile to a more handy location for me in my pull-down.
@claydoh, I presume you mean issuetracker.google.com/issues/123461156
? If so, play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kpstv.xclipper
manages to bypass that restriction via a combination of the AccessibilityService
, and some ADB commands when that occasionally fails. [1]
I don’t think that using “workarounds” was something the KDEConnect devs wanted to use, but I can’t find reference to that in a timely manner. Looking at other tools was discussed, i think.
My suspicion is not wanting to give Google any reason to ban the app.
