Can you fix GNOME icons' black frames?

On Plasma a lot of GNOME apps have ugly icons.
What’s the easiest way to fix this? Should it be fixed from GNOME’s or KDE’s side?

It’s caused by the Qt SVG renderer not properly supporting some of the SVG elements used in those icons. See 448234 – Usage of Qt SVG renderer causes some 3rd-party app icons to be mis-rendered and the discussion therein.

Possible solutions:

  1. Ask icon artists to not use whatever SVG elements in their icons are triggering this bug
  2. Improve the Qt SVG renderer so that it correctly renders a broader array of SVGs
  3. Port KDE software away from the Qt SVG renderer and use something else, like maybe librsvg, a rust-based SVG renderer.

Is there a fix for it temporarily until permanent solutions of 2 and 3 are available ?

No, there isn’t.

I hope it get fixed within the end of the year or somebody build a qt alternative.
