I am using Plasma 6.1.5 on Arch. I enabled Remote Desktop from system settings, but now have found that I cannot disable it. The panel in the System Settings simply reads:
Could not load plugin from /usr/lib/qt6/plugins/plasma/kcms/systemsettings/kcm_krdpserver.so: Cannot load library /usr/lib/qt6/plugins/plasma/kcms/systemsettings/kcm_krdpserver.so: libjxl.so.0.10: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
How do I fix this so that this system setting appears normally and I can disable remote desktop again?
Logoff and back on. With some distros that’s not uncommon. Seems like every so often something isn’t loaded correctly in settings. The biggest one I’ve noticed is Sound, but a logoff fixes it.
At least it shows what is missing (probably because/since brodie complained).
Maybe install the missing files (should be krdp according to google) deactivate it and then uninstall krdp again. But would be hilarious if you still could not and then stuck with a working one, so no guarantee for that from me.
Did I read that error message the wrong way around (too fast) and it does not complain about kcm_krdpserver.so not found but kcm_krdpserver.so not finding libjxl.so.0.10?
Maybe, but that would mean pacman should have complaint to you about (re-)installing a package that was already installed?
Looks like Arch has replaced libjxl with a newer version (0.11), and strange to me that if kcm_krdpserver so hard depends on 0.10 why is it not actually a hard package dependency? While I may could find / think about a way to fiddle around that problem, maybe it would be better if someone more familiar with Remote Desktop takes over from here.
