I have not had this problem before but in 8.5 I can’t get a preview in the way I expect to. I see a message saying the storage location is unavailable.
The database configuration page show the correct path C:\users\Mypc\One drive\pictures
and Preview is set to on.
I must be doing something wrong or not doing something.
Can anyone help? I’d appreciate it.

I have same problem with Digikam 8.7. Various forums online don’t have any replies. Did you figure it out? Some of my thumbnails show but most do not and it says “unavailable” message like yours.
