Cannot Receive Files to My Android Device Using KDE Connect

Just today started having an issue with KDE Connect receiving files on Android. When I send a file to my phone, it now shows a notification that says “open file” but clicking on it does nothing. Has anyone else experienced this?

Solutions I’ve attempted:

  • Unpairing/repairing
  • Uninstalling and re-installing
  • Removing and restoring app permissions related to the file system
  • Changed which folder the downloaded files get sent to

I’m not a smartphone expert, but I suspect, it is a phone issue.
Did you verify, the files have been copied on the phone download folder?
If yes,
can you open the copied files?
If didn’t,
Has this folder user access?
Have you tested, to copy files via USB?

Having the same issue. I’ve had no luck finding a solution, so hopefully someone else has had some luck.

I am using Lubuntu. Sending files from KDEconnect indicator worked for me. But sending from app is still not working. I sent from right-clicking on the indicator and selecting send file.
