Can't change Kubuntu Brightness

I own a MSI laptop with Kubuntu. I wasn’t able to change brightness from the beginning but when I installed my Nvidia drivers, the brightness slider disapeared. I tried using the Nvidia drivers or using xrandr in console. Nothing works.
Anyone has this problem?

welcome,

please post you system info so others can know what version you are running and whether X11 or wayland.

probably 24.10 since the slider in the system tray is a new feature for plasma 6, but it has some bugs.

try gddccontrol in the meantime.

Yes, it is 24.10. Thanks I’ll try it.

For what it’s worth, my kids have an old AMD+NVIDIA hybrid laptop, and changing the brightness - regardless of desktop environment or distribution - requires adding amdgpu.backlight=0 as a kernel parameter.
