Hi, I’m running KDE Plasma on endeavourOS, I have already looked for answers to this on google, and I have been able to change the wallpaper that shows up when I turn on my computer and the lock screen comes up. However, once I log in, and then put my computer to sleep, then come back, the login screen still uses the default wallpaper. I cant figure out what is causing this inconsistency. Thanks!
When you start your computer it shows the display manger (sddm) you can configure that in systemsettings -> colors & themes -> Login Screen (SDDM).
For the actual lock-screen (like when you press meta+L) you can change the appearance in systemsettings -> Screen Locking -> Appearance.
That worked, thank you so much.
Can this be unified?
This is crazy that the same setting is in two TOTALLY different places.
This is such bad UX, I’m sure by the next time I want to change my SDDM wallpaper, I’m going to have the same issue, forgetting that I need to change it in both places.
I understand the need for this, (sometimes you might want them to be different) but those setting should be all in the same place, under the same menu, maybe each under their own tab (ie. [Lock Screen]|[Login Screen]), with a checkbox to set both at once.
Changing one feature shouldn’t be in two different places, even if there are two different settings to account for. All functionality of the same type should be grouped together and grouped consistently.
