If you could please tell us which software you are using, then maybe someone here can help you.
I assume with KDEconnect?

I filtered as kde connect

  1. Is firewall on/off? If it on, what rules do you have?
  2. Is it allowed on the phone side (in the KDE connect app) to write to some directory?

Recent versions of Android have made the reception quite complicated. Check the authorizations of your phone. Since recent Android 14 updates I have had to set up a specific reception folder (in the phone KDE Connect app: “Settings for external modules > Share and receive (long press) > Custom destination folder”. And even then I get a failure message on the phone, while the file did made it to the phone.

Btw, what is your version of KDE Connect on the phone? Latest is 1.32.5 it seems.

Firewall is on, but kde connect is allowed and I allowed storage perms

My phone doesnt get android updates, I am on android 10, also my phone doesnt have google services if that matters

Just noting that I’m having the same issue. This machine is KUbuntu 22.04; my phone is a Galaxy S20+ FE. I can even ping it, but the phone never receives data (or even shows that it is receiving data) from the desktop anymore. I set up a download folder and everything and it still doesn’t want to work.

Sending data from the phone, to the desktop, works fine, though. From the desktop, it’s like the phone doesn’t even see it.

One workaround I’ve discovered is that I can select my phone from the KDE Connect task bar icon, and choose “Browse this device”. It’ll let you open up any of the exposed folders on your phone, which you set up through “Filesystem expose”. You can then copy things over directly. Not as quick, but functional enough for me, for the time being.
