Is there an easy way to turn kdeconnect on and off? It’s permanently running while I’m logged in, meaning it constantly shows as a notification on my phone, but I use it only rarely. The task bar widget doesn’t seem to have an on/off toggle, which looks like an oversight to me. So far the only way to achieve this seems to be running a systemctl command to stop the daemon.
You should be able to long-press on the notification to get some options to get rid of that.
The system tray widget can be set to be hidden or disabled. Right-click on the arrow on the tray to get to the settings.
But no, there is no method currently to turn it off outside of stopping the service.
Thanks. I guess I’ll just turn off the notification.
It would seem that being able to turn off kdeconnect from the control panel should be a feature. Having it permanently on is a potential security vulnerability, despite the required pairing protocol.
There is discussion here in the forum and a bug report on it.
Do you have a link to that?
Thanks. I see that a number of other people agree with my opinion about this.
