"Create title clip" GREYED out

Hi everyone,

I have been using Kdenlive almost daily for a year and everything has been great (on my old ass computer/most likely older version of Kdenlive).

I just got a new computer and when I installed Kdenlive to proceed with my projects I found my “Create title clip” GREYED out and inaccessible.

I am using windows 10, it seems to be a standard build.

Welcome to the forum.
Do you mean: right click into the Project Bin → Add Title Clip is greyed out?
If yes, try with the standalone version from the download page.

I just created an account to say… I had this issue and got it working.
I quit the program and reopened it with Run as Admin

Hi. I had the same problem on Linux running AppImage, the “Add Title Clip” was greyed out.

  1. I created a project and added a color clip “Add Color Clip”.
  2. Saved project.
  3. Closed kdenlive
  4. Restarted AppImage and problem solved.

Not sure why but it worked. Hope it helps others out too.

Confirmed! Saving Project, starting the App with ADMIN privileges solved this. THANKS!

Hi!
Thanks, this worked for me too!

I know it has been a while. “Create title clip” was greyed out for me as well. I saved the project, closed it, and then re-opened it, and then I could add a title clip. I didn’t have to change version or run it in Admin mode. FWIW, I’m using the Kedenlive 24.08.3 Flatpak version in Fedora Kinoite 40.

This is great! You should create a YouTube video one it1
