Custom style appears with blank name and won't load

i’m working on a custom style, but it refuses to load no matter what. it shows up in the system settings with a blank name, and doesn’t do anything when enabled (even when clearing the cache and reloading the plasma shell). it’s a copy of breeze with panel backgrounds changed

tried deleting everything and starting again, editing the default metadata this time, and it all worked. might be something wrong with the metadata example on the creation guide, or maybe i just messed up. who knows!
