Customize file open dialog

How do I customize the button bar? I hardly need anyof these (when opening a folder in Visual Code) but show/hide hidden folders and files would be totally helpful.

And being able create a new folder would be nice as well as right click will create the folder inside the folder I right clicked.

I don’t think it’s currently customizable. I also wish it supported dolphin hotkeys like “create new folder”, but as I understand it the file picker is a completely separate project from dolphin and just made to look similar.

IMHO, for consistency, the file picker should be whatever is your default file manager (like Dolphin for example), not a completely seperate thing.

your customization options are limited to what is shown under the the configure button.

the dialog applet is used by many programs, including dolphin i believe.

you can still use the context menu (right click) to create a new folder/file

or least i can on plasma 5

You have some configurations from the top right of the window configuration menu, including show/hide hidden folders.

There is a new folder button when saving on the top right, but that’s only for the current visible folder.

ctrl+h works in a lot of places.
