I couldn’t find anything recent on this topic. I recently upgraded from Kubuntu 22.04 to 24.XX. Since then my screen remains dark. Using AI I was able to get the brightness slider to respond. It does increase the backlight and generally does brighten the screen but there is no contrast improvement. Is there a way to alter the contrast so the colors are not so dark?
I fixed the problem, or rather sidestepped it. I installed X11 and at log in, I just choose X11 session. It instantly brightened the screen. I’ll check in with Wayland a little later.
