I tried to give it another go at adding a view that serves as a good startup like page for Dolphin, it can be useful for those who miss the My Computer view from windows, as well as for anyone who likes to have a set of Icons handy and easy to find and access with comfort instead of making the sidebar grow too large or if you just don´t like small text and icons.
It’s customizable so sections can be moved up or down as well as be hidden. Icons can be added, removed or reordered.
I tried to implement it following KDE standards and in the same fashion other special views like Trash: or Recent files are.
It’s data comes from a bookmark file and a kio-worker that provides data from the file and Solid for hardisk info, and allows updating the file.
