Hello everyone!
I’m trying to set up a link to launch Glaxnimate from the KDEnlive application. I registered it, but when I try to call it, I get an error. How can I overcome this?
KDEnlive and Glaxnimate are installed from Flatpak.
I tried to do it according to >> THIS << instruction.
Hmm, that’s strange because this means you set it be executable, right? Pointing Kdenlive to the appimage version of Glaxnimate works. I tested it (and wrote the documentation ).
Also, the flatpak version of glaxnimate should start. You pointed Kdenlive to the folder where the flatpak of glaxnimate is using the Open File icon, right?
They don’t need to be installed. Just download, move to a folder for it (or leave where it is), and make it executable ($ chmod 777 or via the properties of your favorite file manager). But you know that already.
Ok, I just tried it again in the 24.12.1 Kdenlive appimage pointing to the Glaxnimate appimage, and it works.
Pointing the 24.12.1 Kdenlive flatpak to the Glaxnimate appimage does NOT work, neither does pointing it to the flatpak version of Glaxnimate.
So, you are doing nothing wrong. I am opening a bug report just in case, but the way flatpak works (sandboxing applications etc.) may prohibit this from being fixed.
The only alternative you have is to use the Kdenlive appimage and point it to the Glaxnimate appimage.
Any best practices on how to install an app and where from?
I like to install it from a .deb package. But the PPA (and the Snap store) have an old version 23.08. I would install it from the PPA and not have to suffer. ))))
