Default Vertical Icon Arrangement (Top to Bottom) & Smaller Icon Buttons Desktop

Hi KDE Team,

I’d like to suggest two improvements to the default desktop icon setup:

  1. Vertical Icon Arrangement (Top to Bottom):
Most operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux Mint) use a vertical layout, making it more intuitive for users.
A vertical arrangement better utilizes screen space, especially on wide monitors, and reduces horizontal scrolling.
  2. Smaller Icon Buttons:
Small icon buttons (instead of small-medium) look more compact and visually appealing, especially when there are many icons on the desktop.

When you rightclick the desktop under Icons you have the Top to Bottom option. As for appealing IMO just like one should never keep anything they don’t want to lose on there OS drive / OS partition one should never keep items on the desktop even if it’s just icons.

And you can set the desktop icons’ size.

I support this. This can be changed but this settings should be default for KDE it looks more natural

I’m pretty sure someone will completely disagree with the “this SHOULD be default” part.
