Default view mode does not work in Krusader

In Krusader’s settings I have Panel > View > Default view mode set to Brief View yet when I start Krusader both panels are set to Detailed View.
Any idea why doesn’t this work as expected?

This setting is only used for new tabs. (Also make sure to have in settings “Panel->General->Tabs” the checkbox “New tab button duplicates a tab” deactivated.

Simply change the view mode of the current tab in the “View” menu.

If in the “Startup” settings “Save last position, size and panel settings” is activated, the view mode will be automatically saved/restored when restarting Krusader.

Maybe add some to the toolbar as well…

Setting Save last position, size and panel settings does indeed work i.e. after restarting Krusader panels’ view modes are set the same as before restarting.

I hoped that saving settings using View > Save settings as default would save current view modes (so that they would be used when starting Krusader) but it does not work. Is this a bug?
