Hey all,
Been using kdenlive on Windows 11 for a while and never had a problem like this. When rendering a small, 2m30s video, the rendering crashes as the render completes. The entire crash log is 1.8 million characters, with this error code being repeated over and over again.
[swscaler @ 0000023b9ccc2000] deprecated pixel format used, make sure you did set range correctly
I have tried looking around at a range of pixels that may have somehow changed from my last video edit, but there’s nothing different I can find. I’ve made sure my settings are all the same, the rendering format is still lossless H.264 (and even if it wasn’t the MP4/H264/AAC doesn’t work either) and the timeline shouldn’t have any errors. I thought it was because of a single file having .webp instead of .png, so after changing that I re-rendered it and still crashed. I also just tried removing one of the effects I used thinking that was an issue but no dice, it still crashed with the same error. I’m installing some updates and will run it again after I’ve restarted my computer, though I’m not too hopeful.
Also, for some reason kdenlive isn’t using anywhere near the same amount of processing power it did before. The last two times I rendered videos the framerate at which it did so was very high (~250-320) and my temps were skyrocketing (95°C constant). Now it’s going at most 60fps and my temps hardly break 60. Changing the concurrent threads to use more didn’t do anything. Version is 24.12.1. Been running this fine for a while and thought that the specific version might be helpful.
Any help is appreciated!
