damn. This should be easy? I installed kde connect and have gave this tutorial a valliant effort:
no avail. The phone sees my desktop, but the desktop application of kde connect sees nothing, knows nothing. Anybody care to get involved in my drama?

i figured this out (above). But I have not figured out how to delete a post which is no longer relevant. Any advice?
Hi there. It would be nice and useful for others if you could write a quick synopsis of what you did to solve your problems. Apart from that well done!
The tutorial I followed as best I could is above, included with my original post. I went into into my firewall (I have “firewall” and “firewall configuration” …going into firewall configuration keeps freezing up (I found the advice to push both alt +prtscn together while slowly at the same time typing “REISUB” for a soft restart) When you get into firewall, find “firewall configuration”. Poke around until you see the Zone tab… I changed mine to HOME somehow, but PUBLIC is still highlighted… what seemed to be the important bit was going into “ports” and adding tcp and udp permissions to open 1714-1764 for both. The tutorial does a MUCH better job of instructing than I can here. It almost seems more difficult to try to explain what I did than it was to muddle through it. Good luck :-/ message me if you think I can help you hahahahahahahahahahha I would try ![]()
