Digikam sort order by date doesn't work

Hello,

using Digikam 8.1 on Arch Linux, the sort order doesn’t really makes sense for me.

I have these settings:

  • Sort entries by creation date
  • Order: Ascending
  • Group By: Month

I view a single album.

The first picture (I am looking at the big date at the bottom of the file properties panel) has a date of 15.08.2023 07:08, next one is 15.08.2023 07:11 and so on. So far it makes sense. But after the last image of the day, the next entry is from 14.08.2023 08:33, …

The sort order inside one single day is correct, but the days itself are sorted in descending order.

I haven’t found a bug report and wanted to verify first.
