Discord Screenshare Problem

Hi everyone

When I try to share my screen on Discord I see this window what says select your app/windows, Seems like a privacy protection tool which bricks Discord, When I select an app or a screen Discord still cannot detect it and share it properly, any idea how can I fix it? or if there is no fix for it tell me how can I disable this thing

I can confirm this issue.
Qt 6.7.2
KDE, master
Debian 13/sid

This is just a guess but it seems that kded is not able to share the screen to Discord
On the journal, we can see
8/25/24 2:17 PM org.kde.kded6 Service “:1.545” unregistered

Using X11 instead of Wayland fixes it, but it needs to be fixed at all, seems it is an Electron problem because the version of Electron which Discord is using is too old.

I recently found this issue as well. I’m trying not to move back to X11 because I get better performance out of wayland. This is very disappointing.

I thought the x11 video to wayland bridge was supposed to facilitate this, is that not the case?

how can i launch discord through that?

Sorry it’s the other way around, Discord uses the x11 video bridge, it’s supposed to allow applications that use x11 video sharing to share wayland screens.

I’m currently using Vesktop (github/xii69/Vesktop) which allows me to screen share, but I can’t use key binds since it launches a kind of web browser

Avoid from closed source programs like DISCORD
