Hi!
Since upgrading my Fedora machine to 40, Discover cannot be used anymore.
When it autostarts, I can get the available updates installed in reasonable time. But getting new apps is next to imposible: Search takes 10-15 minutes, often ending in a freeze. And if I di find what I am looking for, the install process takes ages and freezes in the end.
Same with KDE store, wher I tried to download some themes because Discover will not get them. Store takes ages , the downloads mostly don’t work and don’t get installed.
This is not a bandwidth problem. Other internet applications work fine, als getting software through the Gnome Software Center.
What is the issue?
Can you check in the system monitor if a process is maybe taking too much CPU time, during installation?
Please take note of this bug: 488199 – After app is launched, first search for something that should return no results instead returns "Still looking" forever
Although there may be others you are running into.
