Displays wont start after sleep

I have sleep + lock screen enabled.

But after the computer go to sleep, the computer it self seems to start/wake, but the displays stays off until i press the comuter reset button.

In the background i could hear bebbetbird “plopp” the email notification.

Backport kernel
AMD RX7800 XT

swap is 65GB partition.
System is btrfs.

I did try alt+ctrl+F-keys to see if i could switch to a tty, not sure if it worked since the displays stayed off.

Hi - does that issue occur on the “standard” Debian kernel for that version?

hi, no idea, never tried. because what i gathered installing debian specific, is that i need the backport kernel to support the rx7800 xt card, which i gathered required a much newer kernel then debian stable.

These might all be signs that you’d be better off with a distros that ships newer software than Debian does, FWIW. I’m rather partial to Fedora KDE myself.

I have earlier today started to think that i might need a new distro. Some stuff that doesnt work that supposed to work :>

Meh, read up on fedora… Flatpaks, not for me. Have to find another dist that doesnt base everything on flatpaks/snaps.

Fedora doesn’t base everything on Flatpaks; not sure where that impression came from.
