Distinguish plain text with CMake source

I’m on Plasma 6.3.4. And I unable to distinguish plain text file and CMake source file to open in different applications by default. I set to open plain text in Kate, and CMake source in Qt Creator, but for both of them uses last set one. Is it a desired behaviour, or it’s an issue? Thank you.

Hi - just to check, what do you have listed in your System Settings > Default Applications > File Associations page for text/x-cmake and text/plain? What you’re describing seems to work on my device - also using Plasma 6.3.4 - and my settings are below if it’s helpful:

Hi. Interesting. What OS do you use? I’m on Tumbleweed. And I’m unable to set different from plain text on cmake sources. Look.

order

Hm. I was able to do it by removing Kate from x-cmake. When Kate in list of x-cmake order, I’m unable to set other as in plain text. Hm… Look.

Ahh - great call on posting the screencast images! What you’re experiencing there is a bug that’s been reported through the KDE Bugtracking System: 393700 – File type editor doesn't respect set order after pressing Apply

Thank you! I exactly tried to understand if this is KDE’s issue and I should post bug report. It’s on board already, great!
