Hi everyone,
I’m using the latest version of KMail (6.4.3 (25.04.3)) on Arch Linux, and I’ve noticed something strange with DKIM verification.
On several legitimate messages - including ones sent by myself from a properly configured domain with valid SPF, DKIM, and DMARC (checked via various online tools, Gmail headers, and Thunderbird with the “DKIM Verifier” extension) - KMail reports “DKIM: Not valid” (or something similar, I use the Italian language).
I also see this on emails from well-known services such as PayPal (!) and other major websites, even though these messages are clearly authentic and expected. That said, DKIM verification does work correctly on many other messages, so it’s not failing across the board.
I’ve tested this on multiple messages, and the issue seems persistent. Thunderbird, with the “DKIM Verifier” extension, confirms these same signatures as valid, so I suspect this may be a bug or a limitation in KMail’s DKIM module.
Has anyone else experienced this? Could this be a known issue? I’d be curious to hear from other users before opening a bug report.
Thanks!
