Does a discussion about why QQC2.Dialog doesn't render the window border exist?

I wonder if this should create real windows on desktop, instead of using QQC2.Dialog. I really don’t like this fake windows embedded in pages and I have been killing a lot of usage of OverlaySheet for that reasons in various apps.

It has a few upvotes, including mine.

I realize that that is a really old MR, but is this problem discussed formally anywhere? I’ve been looking for ages, and haven’t been able to find a proper discussion, merely occasional threads.

I ask because I vehemently agree (at least, I shall, until I find a discussion by those who originally decided its style, where they explain why it’s superior).
