Does Japan still use any alternate calendar?

There is a feature request about bringing back Japanese calendar. But to my knowledge Japan has switched to the Gregorian calendar completely. Thanks

Yes, your understanding is correct. Japan has switched to Gregorian calendar 150 years ago. Traditional Japanese calender is called “legacy calendar” (旧暦) and I guess only some historians use it nowadays.
I don’t think you have to bring back it to KDE’s calender system.
