Dolphin details View - Can I set the default columns?

I use Dolphin every day mainly with details view, i always had to add extra column to folders.

Sure, i checked the option “Remember the display style for each folder” in Configure → Configure Dolphin → View, nonetheless, for a new folder i must manually add extra columns as Permission, Owner, Group, Type…to match my liking.

Is there a way to do it once for all, so that, every folder will be displayed with all the columns i want to be present ?

Thanks

Set Display style to “Use common display style for all folders”.

Set 1 folder with the columns and other settings you want.

Then, go “View >> Adjust View Display Style”:

Then, mark "Apply to: – “All folders” and “Use as default view settings” – and “Apply”.

So, all existing folders will be set as you wanted, and all new folders too.

If you want a different setting to any special folder, just check the option “Remember the display style for each folder” , and change just this folder.

Thank you, that’s what i was looking for.
I know now there is a menubar in Dolphin (i am new to Plasma) which gives the option “Adjust view display style”, it’s not so easy to find if you do not know the hotkeys !

Was this feature added recently? I can’t find the lower “Apply to” options on Ubuntu 24.04…

No, it has been there for 5+years at least.

I can’t find the lower “Apply to” options on Ubuntu 24.04…

It is visible only if you have “Remember settings per-folder” setting set.

Are you using Gnome – de default DE within Ubuntu?

The “Apply” button is characteristic of KDE environment.

The last time I have used Gnome (or Cinnamon), there was no need to “Apply” in order to set a new option. – I just changed any option, and it was already applied.

Oh yes it works. Thank you very much! This means that the feature I suggested already exists.
