Dolphin multi panel possible bug

Hello,

I am not sure if this is a bug or I am doing something wrong. I am open to suggestions.

To reproduce this behaviour, do the following:

  1. open Dolphin in split mode, then open different folders in each pane
  2. create a new tab with two panes, and open folders in each of them, different from the folders on tab 1
  3. on tab 1, in the left pane, click in the path line, as if you would like to edit it, but do nothing there, just click somewhere in the left pane; this selects this pane
  4. on tab 2, in the right pane, select something by dragging; do this directly, without touching the path line.
  5. use a keyboard shortcut, such as Ctrl+X, as if you want to cut the selection to move it elsewhere; the expected behaviour at this point is that the selection is dimmed, meaning that the system awaits for you to navigate to the destination folder to paste the cut selection.
  6. however, at least on my system, the left pane on tab 2 changes to selection mode instead; it is as if the right panel was not selected when I clicked in it to make my selection to be cut.

The workaround that I have found is to click once in the path line of the right pane of the second tab, then everything works correctly.

my system is like this

Operating System: TUXEDO OS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2
Kernel Version: 7.0.0-111030-tuxedo (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

Dolphin version 25.12.3

I think that’s the leftover issue talked about in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=509525

I merged a fix for this, that will be in 26.08.1.
