Dolphin no longer highlights last visited folder after navigating back

Were there some hard data about users deleting files by accident and how often that happens?

I’ve seen a lack of hard data cited as both a reason to make a change and a reason not to.

Regardless this “selected-not-selected” state is a really strange concept.

I don’t have any cats, am only, I hope, mildly mentally impaired, and understand the concept of the recycle bin, so this feature to me, it makes using Dolphin and KDE worse than it was before.

Perhaps it could be regarded as a brave idea that having had considerable real world testing, be retired in favour of “classic dolphin”.

The workaround from 494125 – Double-clicking a file *deselects* it after opening (reverting the commit) doesn’t work anymore because of a conflict.

Is there any setting to enable to show that underline indicator?
I can see it on a different profile, but I can’t get it to show on my profile with either Breeze light or dark.

Different profile:
with underline indicatorm

My profile:
without underline indicatorm

Notice that the other profile also shows the tree lines.
Update: it’s the ExpandableFolders setting, but it doesn’t make the underline visible.
Both are in details view mode.

Update2: found the solution: it’s “draw focus indicator in lists” in the “Application Style” settings.

The PKGBUILD for reverting the bug is working fine. I’m with the latest version with no problems at all.

It seems simply reverting a commit is not enough anymore in version 25.08, because of a merge conflict in src/kitemviews/kitemlistcontroller.cpp (and src/tests/dolphinmainwindowtest.cpp).
