Dolphin: please add bookmarks-bar

Would be great if Dophin had an optional bookmarks-toolbar.

Screenshot is from cubicexplorer on windows.

Click open in currente tab. Middle click to open in new tab and set focus to it.

Please please please [doggy eyes]

Dolphin has places panel to fill this use case, you can add folders to it. It has optionally a file tree panel, and bookmarks. You can add a button to the toolbar to open a tree-view in menu of your menus.

Please please please [doggy eyes]

Please be reasonable, no-one likes redundant features.

Maybe you just didn’t realized the places panel is editable.

You already have places which is the same thing.

Yup, unless you specifically want this on top of the window, then Places looks like what you want. Its functionality is similar to bookmarks in Cinnamon or Quick Access in Windows 11, but the implementation feels nicer, cleaner:

You can literally add anything to it:

thank you all for the quick replies.

Ok, I see the point. Places can be usefull here.

I work a lot in tree-view mode, so ‘places’ are hardly ever visible. So I would ctrl+t for a new tab, then open bookmarks or places-panel, click to open, and close places-panel (to get back to the tree).

Would be supercool to go to a location in a new tab in just 1 click. So places-bar, or bookmarks-bar, would help.

You can place panel on below the other, or place them in tabs, or have one on either side.

Toolbars are not great users of space since they occupy vertical space, when most screens are wider than tall. Hence why they tend to be minimalist.
You can open a bug requesting the feature if you want, if they are more people really wanting this maybe this could get implemented.
But not for a single user unique workflow, when there are plenty of options available.
