In Kate, Split View makes Tabs work in their split independently of other splits, while in Dolphin, tabs contain both locations in the split inside of the tab.
I love how it’s done in Kate, hate how it is in Dolphin, however I understand that someone might like this system.
That’s why I propose an option in the settings to change the way it works.
This would be amazing. I am on a quest to find something resembling OneCommander (only on Windows) for Linux. Dolphin is quite close, but this is the one thing holding it back most, in my opinion.
I also tried Konqueror, Krusader, Double Commander, yazi, mc, lfm, etc. But Krusader (which I am using now) doesn’t have the bookmark sidebar. Konqueror blinds me with the new tab that I cannot change from “konq:blank” to anything else, and middle-click opens some things in a new tab, but others open in the same tab.
I cannot include the link to the website with some nice screenshots, as I am a new user, but you can search for OneCommander.
I also attached an image that shows how nice OneCommander is, and it would be amazing to get something for Linux with a similar level of customizability and, more importantly, functionality.
