There was a pain point (which still exists) in Dolphin, let me come up with an example workflow.
I have HOME, plus three spinning HDD’s… most interesting is the Media storage which isn’t mirrored, but is spread across the drives.
Sometimes I need to check for duplicated content (not duplicated files, perhaps something like PP 720p and PP 1080p and Pink Panther HEVC exist…) with my main /W4/media, then ideally I would like a split:
| W4/media |==>|Tab W2/media | Tab T4/media |
i.e. allowing multiple tabs on the Right pane as my ‘destination’, and/for the right pane which is frequently my source.
With Dolphin, however, this is generally achieved by having multiple dolphin windows (e.g. top half with W4/media and T4/media, bottom half with W4/fresh T4/Fresh, and then extra tabs are needed if I want to manage all 6 folders.
I was playing with Krusader last week - it separates tabs to each side (i.e. each pane is an independent file browser).
Is it possible to incorporate this into Dolphin? To be able to toggle this behaviour whilst staying in a familiar file browser would be absolutely awesome…
