Since updating (in Discover) to version …21, the download of new versions (currently …27) always stops at around 35% without an error message. It is no longer possible to update the existing installation.
Is there enough space left on the device? KDE Linux will keep up to 4 images at ~6GB each.
If you have older images, you can try booting into one of them and run the update. There was a image recently where the updates did not work for me. However, I was able to update from an older image.
Thanks for the tips.
Booting into the second-newest version didn’t work. An error occurred before the login screen even appeared.
The hard drive size could have been a problem. It can’t work with a 25 GB VM. I increased the disk size to 50 GB (including allocation in the disk manager). However, the update still aborts at about 37%. Well, I’ll have to keep looking.
Did you get a message that said “You are in emergency mode.”? I noticed that too with some of my older images.
It looks like KDE Linux might be only keeping 2 images around instead of 4 but still showing 4 options on the boot screen. You can see which images are available by booting the current image and running “ls -al /system/”. You should see at least one other image there and you should be able to boot into it. For instance, I have kde-linux_202511180408 and kde-linux_202511290254 on my system. Can you post what images you have? It might help debugging.
Another thing you could try is running the update commands from the command line. I haven’t tried it but it might provide some output. These are the commands:
updatectl check
updatectl update
