Elisa playlist issue

So i downloaded some songs and put them in the music folder and elisa made a playlist with them in order which is nice! anyways when i try to play a song somewhere in the middle or any song other than the first it automatically starts the playlist from the begginning, funny thing is when i enter the “party mode” then it works perfectly, i dont know if im stupid or what but if someone knows if its an actual bug please tell me lol. Hi! Just checking, are you able to share a screenshot and point out where you’re going in Elisa to choose and play a song?

That might be helpful to check and see if perhaps you might accidentally be clicking the Play button for playing a whole album or something, or if any settings stand out as different from what I can see on my own system, for example.

ok so its not an album but the songs are in the music folder and when i click the button that says play from here replacing current album it just starts from the beginning (new flesh in this example) and when i click the party mode button everything works just fine. ps: dont judge my music taste :3 ps ps : the .thumbnails file is there because i downloaded on phone and shared it via kde connect and i know its in home/music/music but the same issue persisted when i put the songs in /home/music

Hmm, just checking - what version of Elisa are you using? I can’t reproduce that behavior in the current development version, but there were a couple of folks reporting a similar issue last year: 485482 – Clicking play on an individual track in the Tracks list causes playback to begin from the first track in the list, not the one that was clicked on

it says elisa 25.04.2, i constantly review updates in the discover store tho so i dont think its that but who knows.

Hmm, it’s possible then that the issue reported last year only occurs under specific circumstances, but does still exist.

It may be helpful then to add your experience as a comment on that bug report, so if the original reporter also still sees it, then we could confirm that it’s the same issue.

Just to check, could you also share your Configure Elisa screen in case there’s something that sticks out there? Mine is below:

And zero judgment on musical preferences - “of taste, there is no dispute” as my dad always said

fullscreen because im hiding firefox haha

hmm interesting when i click the search icon and yknow search for something, then when i click on either song a new playlist is created and it plays the top search result first no matter on which song i click, but when i click show playlist and play each individual song there it works just fine

Definitely an odd one - I can’t reproduce that behavior either using search results, or the pre-existing list of tracks.

At this point I’d suggest following along with the bug report linked above, since it sounds like it’s still occurring in at least some situations. If you add your system information from the About Elisa dialog (using the Copy to Clipboard button), that can help document the environment that Elisa is running in for folks who are seeing this bug
