End of 10 Question

Is this gonna help transition all windows 10 users to kde or just the consumers? :thinking:

@bbdamz2007:

First, welcome to the KDE Discuss Forum.

Putting your question another way โ€“

  • Is the EOL of Microsoftโ€™s Windows 10 going to influence the migration of a part of the Microsoft customer base, away to something else?

Meaning, are existing Microsoft customers โ€“

  1. going to buy new hardware and migrate to Windows 11 or,
  2. continue to use their existing hardware with another Operating System or,
  3. ditch the Microsoft environment and, move to something else โ€“ such as, Apple macOS running on Apple silicon?

Given the performance of Appleโ€™s M3 and M4 Silicon, I suspect that, a portion of the Microsoft Customer Base will move over to Apple โ€“ particularly those involved in โ€œgraphicsโ€ โ€ฆ

A portion of the Microsoft Customer Base will, for whatever reason, invest in new hardware and migrate to Windows 11 โ€“ for whatever reason โ€ฆ

Which leaves the remaining portion: Theyโ€™ll either โ€“

  • stay with Windows 10 until the Doomsday or,
  • theyโ€™ll tinker with the idea of moving to another Operation System running on their existing hardware โ€ฆ

Catch-22 is, how will they get to hear about the possibility of using another Operating System on their existing hardware?

  • I have an acquaintance who is totally proud of the fact that, heโ€™s got Windows 11 up and running on his Windows 10 hardware โ€ฆ
    And, heโ€™s totally opposed to using anything other than Microsoft Windows โ€ฆ :unamused_face:
